The aim of this book is the examination of ten German-speaking playwrights from the 1920s to the 2010s. From the Weimar Republic to the period of the two Germanies and the post-Wende era. From the Lehrstück of Brecht to the Volksstück of Horváth and from the Sprechstück of Handke to the Textflächen of Jelinek.
